Group Psychotherapy

Sometimes it might be useful to join a therapy group. Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and Counselling has been designed as a group therapy and this has many advantages. Group size is usually between 4-6.
So when is it best to join a group?
There are many more reasons why joining group therapy might be a good choice for you. Whatever you decide, we will respect your preferences as to whether you want to be in a group or have one-to-one sessions.

So when is it best to join a group?
- if you already had 3-6 months one-to-one therapy (earlier is not advisable)
- if you would like to experience being part of a development within a group and want to receive feedback, but also support others with your experiences and thoughts.
- maybe you find it hard to connect to others and would like to learn this in a contained and safe setting

- have several individual's feedback and thoughts
- experiencing protection and safety within a group and possibly outside of sessions.
- 120 minute sessions instead of 50 minutes at a lower price
However, there are also limitations:
- depending on whether a group member is in acute crisis, you might not get the same time for yourself within a session as you would in one-to-one psychotherapy and counselling.
